As BBQ season kicks into high gear, there’s no better time to try Michigan Maple Farms Maple Syrup BBQ Sauce — or Organic Maple Syrup BBQ Sauce. Either one may be just the thing you need to elevate any meal. You see, this isn’t your run-of-the-mill BBQ sauce. It has infinite uses beyond just ribs, pulled pork or wings. Today we’re sharing a few simple, yet delicious ways to use our popular maple BBQ sauce.

Maple Syrup BBQ Bacon Chicken Bombs

These chicken bombs are fantastic as an appetizer at a dinner party, or for your Tuesday night dinner with the family. With creamy goat cheese, bacon, jalapeño and our maple syrup BBQ sauce, they’re simply irresistible.

What You’ll Need:

  • 5 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 ounces of softened goat cheese
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar and Monterey jack cheese
  • 5 jalapaños, deseeded and sliced in half lengthwise
  • 20 slices of bacon
  • 1 cup of Michigan Maple Farms Organic Maple Syrup BBQ Sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Cut chicken breasts lengthwise into thin fillets. Then pound fillets between parchment paper until they’re ¼ inch thin. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Wash jalapeños. Then remove stems and slice jalapeños lengthwise, removing seeds and center ribbing.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine goat cheese and shredded cheese until well blended. Fill each jalapeño half with 1 tablespoon of cheese mixture.
  5. This is where it gets a little tricky. Place your filled jalapeño half, cheese side down, on chicken fillets and roll chicken around the jalapeño. Remember it may not close up nicely but the bacon will save the day.
  6. Wrap two pieces of bacon, one at a time, tightly around the rolled chicken. Start at one end and wrap half the fillet, then finish the other half with your second piece of bacon. Tuck the bacon into itself in order to seal the ends.
  7. Place fully wrapped chicken bombs on an aluminum foil-lined baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes. Then reduce the heat to 375 degrees and place your chicken bombs on a new aluminum foil-lined baking sheet. Brush your maple syrup BBQ sauce on all sides of the chicken bombs then return to the oven for about 5-6 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and brush with one more layer of BBQ sauce and place chicken bombs in the broiler for 2-3 more minutes. Remove and let sit for 10 minutes before serving. Slice into ½ inch or 1 inch slices and garnish with goat cheese, then serve.

  3. Then, in a medium bowl, mix chicken and maple BBQ sauce until chicken is fully coated.
